الوحي الأول
The story of how Prophet Muhammad ﷺ received the first revelation of the Quran in the cave of Hira. A story about obedience and trust.
In the city of Makkah, there lived a man named Muhammad ﷺ. He was known for his honesty and kindness. People called him "Al-Amin" — the trustworthy. He would go to the cave of Hira on Mount An-Nur to think and pray. He would sit in the quiet cave and think about Allah and the world around him. He was 40 years old when something amazing happened.
One night, while Muhammad ﷺ was in the cave of Hira, the angel Jibril appeared. The angel was huge and filled the cave. The angel said, "Iqra!" — which means "Read!" Muhammad ﷺ was scared. He said, "I cannot read." But the angel insisted. He held Muhammad ﷺ tightly and said again, "Read in the name of your Lord who created!" This was the first time the Quran was revealed.
The angel Jibril recited the words of Allah. The first words of the Quran were: "Read in the name of your Lord who created. Created man from a clinging substance. Read, and your Lord is the Most Generous. Who taught by the pen. Taught man that which he knew not." Muhammad ﷺ was trembling. He was amazed and scared. But he knew that these words were from Allah.
Muhammad ﷺ left the cave and went home. He was shaking and scared. He went to his wife Khadijah and said, "Cover me! Cover me!" She covered him with a blanket until he felt calm. Then he told her what happened. Khadijah was wise and kind. She said, "Never fear. By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you. You keep good relations with your family, you help the poor and the needy, you are a guest and you help those who deserve help."
The First Revelation taught us that when Allah chooses us for something, we should accept it with trust. Even when we feel scared, Allah is with us. And the words of Allah are always a source of light and guidance.
When Allah has a plan for you, trust it — even if you feel scared or unsure.
